The Caribbean Islands are divided into 2 groups – the Greater Antilles and the Lesser Antilles.

The Lesser Antilles are divided into 3 groups – the Leeward IslandsWindward Islands, and the Leeward Antilles.

and finally…the Leeward Antilles are divided into 2 groups – the A, B, C Islands (Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao) and around 25 islands from Venezuela, for example the Isla de Margarita.

The Lucayan Archipelago does not officially belong to the Caribbean as it lies in another sea (Atlantic Ocean). Often it is included in the map of the Caribbean because of its proximity.
